Crowns & Bridges
Do you have a tooth that is severely damaged, or has a gap left by missing teeth?
Dental crowns used extensively in cosmetic and restorative dentistry treatment. They can be used to cover a natural tooth from a broken cusp, or to cover a discolored tooth as result of Tetracycline staining. Crowns are also routinely recommended to cover a tooth after root canal treatment in order to strengthen the tooth from future fracture, or they can be used to anchor a dental bridge.
Alternatively, a crown can be placed over a dental implant to restore the gap left by a missing tooth. Modern crowns are made of beautiful tooth-colored porcelain that is truly natural-looking; visit our Smile Makeover Gallery to see some examples of the aesthetic results some of our patients have enjoyed over the years at our office.
Dental Bridges
(We also provide implant-supported (partial) dentures, and crowns which do not rely on support from the surrounding teeth.) At our office we strive to provide the best cosmetic and functional result. We provide attractive dental bridges that are aesthetically pleasing as well as functional.
Please feel free to contact our office for a consultation regarding crowns or dental bridges.
Root Canal Therapy
A root canal is one of the most common dental procedures performed in dentistry. It is estimated that over 14 million root canal treatments are provided every year. Root canal therapy or Endodontic treatment is relatively simple and can save your natural teeth and prevent the need of dental implants or dental bridges.
The center of every tooth houses the pulp. Pulp is a collection of blood vessels and nerve tissue that helps to build and nourish the surrounding tooth. Infection of the pulp can be caused by trauma to the tooth, deep cavity, cracks , or sometimes as result of dental procedures. Symptoms of the infection can be identified as pain, visible injury, swelling of the tooth or surrounding tissues, sensitivity to temperature in the tooth and gums.
How is a Root Canal done?
Upon anesthesia is administered the injured pulp is removed and the root canal system is cleaned, disinfected and sealed with special material called Gutta Percha. Root canal treatment have a success rate of over 90% and can be completed in one or two visits. In addition to local anesthesia, we can provide nitrous oxide analgesia for our nervous patients to reduce anxiety. Upon completion of treatment You will be able to drive home after your treatment, and many patients will be comfortable returning to normal routine the next day. Upon the completion of treatment it is highly recommended the tooth to be restored with a full coverage restoration such as a crown to prevent future damage and re-infection.
